#KaleidoscopeAtGreenfield Turns 1!

If you've known me since the start of 2016, then you may know that I used to frequent Splice at Greenfield District for spoken word and to join open mic! I also go around the area because of the good food and the fact that it's just a ride away from home, by Crossing and Shaw (it's also near PUP San Juan hehe). Since they were held on Friyays, I'd notice Kaleidoscope but never really checked it out.

This November 5, I got the chance and joined Kaleidoscope as they turn a year old! (Thank you to sir Edrian of BlogADia!)
I arrived at Greenfield District at around 5PM, meeting fellow bloggers and media partners to attend the press conference held by sir Duane A.X. Santos. It was held in Twin Oaks condominium, right inside the District area. I just found out they had condos around the area, so it's pretty neat since super accessible to everything, being in the middle of Metro Manila (literally a few steps away from MRT Shaw and Shangrila!), and the ambiance of the building was nice. Kinda made me think of getting my own place here. Char. In time, maybe. (I dream of a tiny studio unit in Mandaluyong, all unicorn-themed) ;)

During this time, we got to learn more about how Kaleidoscope came to be, as well as the whole Greenfield District itself. What I found great was their idea of offering an avenue for people to unwind after a long week of work, not just through the many restaurants and shops, but to also create events in the middle of Metro Manila. It makes it so much easier for people to meet up and hang out with great music, good company, delicious food, and a lot of other events lined up from the management.

Besides Kaleidoscope, Greenfield District has tons of other events! I've seen dog meets and yoga sessions by the field during the weekends, which is pretty awesome and perfect for family and friends. Roaming around Greenfield District, I found a ton of good restaurants as well (Hello, Splice and Blackwood!). OH, and they even have TRAMPOLINE PARK and a ROCK CLIMBING CENTER (makes parinig ahem). It also makes for a great walk during the late afternoon and evening, when it isn't too hot to walk around, but windy and with a great ambiance.

Kaleidoscope's anniversary party was glow-in-the-dark themed, so it was all beautiful colors, bright lights, and a ton of fun! You got to have your face painted, admire the lights, take advantage of the highlighters they have to offer... They even had glow-in-the-dark hula hoops! I get that they were for children, but I was VERY tempted to have my face painted and to grab hold of those hula hoops, if only the kids weren't using it and the line wasn't too long. Huhu.

Like any weekly Kaleidoscope event, you've got your food booths and other concessionaires. You'll find lots of people selling books and clothes, as well as perfume. You've even got a mini market where some booths sell fruits. One of my favorites from this night was the one selling the banana floaties, which I seriously needed for my beach trip. If only it wasn't 1,500 PHP. Double huhu.

The food booths were similar to Mercato, with lechon, pasta, pizza, and a lot of other treats to feast your eyes (and mouth) on. They also sell beer and drinks for those who want to loosen up.

They also had a live band and LED breakdancers, all perfect for a night of fun! Finished it off with fireworks as a way to celebrate the first (and hopefully first of many) anniversary.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to stay for long to witness the Glow-In-The-Dark Costume Contest, but either way, I loved every bit of it. From the food down to the liveliness and music, I know where to spend my next Friyay night. ;)
