#IssaEATS: The Station Food Park @ Maginhawa!
Excuse my absence and blame it on work and asthma (which is, incidentally, due to stress from work LOL).
Anyway, I took another trip to Maginhawa (Thanks, Aldous!), and this time a GASTRONOMICAL experience at The Station Food Park! There are tons of stalls to choose from, along with equally filling and delicious choices. Hard to choose which one to get, 'no? Well, let's cut to the chase and I'll be showing you my top 12 favorite dishes from The Station Food Park, Maginhawa.
1. CMH ILOCOS EMPANADA - BAGNET EMPANADA (65 PHP)
Their bagnet empanada is so crunchy with a lot of filling. And everything works with bagnet, so this is pretty much a yummy treat for me! Not too salty or tough to eat, but filled with everything one expects in an empanada- egg, a bit of veggies, and all the meat!
More good eats from them would be their other flavors of empanada (all 65 PHP each), as well as their forever crunchy bagnet with cornick (250 PHP for 1/4 kg)!
2. DEE BEE TIN - BEEF NOODLES (155 PHP)
I have a thing for noodles, and Dee Bee Tin's beef noodles offer a huge bowl of hot soup with a lot of toppings, so you're getting what you pay for.
They also offer porkchop with rice (170 PHP), which is pretty sulit for a whole meal.
3. CRAZY WINGS - CHIPOTLE BARBECUE FLAVOR (165 PHP FOR HALF A DOZEN)
Crunchy wings filled with barbecue sauce- That's what I like! Crazy Wings' Chipotle Barbecue flavor offers savory barbecue with hints of sweet and spicy. Not overcoated, but just right.
They've got a variety of flavors as well, such as Soy Garlic and Garlic Parmesan. 310 PHP for a whole dozen, while if you're single, you can opt for wings with rice or fries for 130-140 PHP.
4. DONA LEVITA - BAKED CHEESY TAHONG (180 PHP)
I LOVE cheese, and I also have a thing for buttered tahong (surprised?), so the combination of the two makes a great appetizer or picapica!
Dona Levita is awesome for picapica food, like their sisig (250 PHP)!
5. CHEESE-A-HOLIC - CHEESE FONDUE (445 PHP)
Now this is one for the books. Their Cheese Fondue is great for up to four hungry people, with a mix of four different cheeses in a delicious bread bowl. Filled with dippables like sausage bacon bites, potato wedges, and chicken pops (yes, they taste great together with cheese or alone!), you'll get your yummy cheese fix here.
6. TOP DAWGS - SHAMROCK (150 PHP)
We tried both the Shamrock and Jackass (170 PHP) hotdogs, and I've got to say, I love how they heat up the cheese in front of you. The charcoal is soft yet holds the hotdog and toppings well together, and I love the cheesiness of it all. All savory, all good.
7. RIBB & DYNABITES - DYNABITES (99 PHP)
My grandmother's dynamites was the bomb, and these are equally as spicy! Stuffed with mushroom (or meat), it's filling and for those in love with spicy food.
They have rib plates for the hungry, which includes two sides (219 PHP)!
8. CAPTAIN MARLEY'S - LARGE BUTTERFLY SQUID (189 PHP)
What makes this a favorite of mine from Captain Marley's would be how well-cooked it is. It's tender but not chewy and with the right amount of batter. Dip it in their vinegar sauce, and YUM.
Other delicious seafood eats are their fish and chips (a must-try at 199 PHP) and crispy crablets (189 PHP). All are good for at least two people!
9. TICKLE BELLY - HAZELNUT MILKSHAKE (139 PHP)
You won't even need dessert anymore with this huge and very sweet milkshake. You're gonna need two people for this, because of the thick chocolate-y goodness.
They have other fruit juices and indulgent drinks as well, including their shaved ice (120 PHP).
10. ONE MATCHA - MATCHA LATTE (120 PHP)
Your basic tea latte, but with matcha! No overpowering taste of matcha powder, nice mix of a slightly bitter yet milky sweet flavor.
Another favorite is their Blended French Vanilla (135 PHP), which is just as deliciously thick and sweet!
11. GOCHILLA - MILO GOCHILLA (150 PHP)
Definitely one for sharing. Or hey, if you're a sweet tooth like me, then try conquering this HUGE Milo shake topped with a ton of Milo powder AND ice cream on top of it.
They've got a unique dish- Fried sushi (160 PHP for four pieces)! But what I would recommend would be their BBQ Stix, with my favorite being the yakitori and chicken skin (88 PHP for two sticks)/
12. WILD BIRD - CHICKEN SHAWARMA
I do like shawarma rice, but I get hesitant because most of what I try are bland or not as genuinely Persian tasting. Wild Bird's chicken shawarma rice passed my test in flavor, though, making it another favorite!
Wild Bird is also known for their fried chicken (180 PHP), which is HUGE and fit for two people, actually!
And there you have it! I definitely had the best time trying all these dishes from The Station, and though there are so many more to choose from, I'm still at the tip of exploring Maginhawa. See you soon! ;)
